Qian Zhang is an associate professor from Jinan University in Guangzhou,China. She received her PhD in Chinese Linguistics and Philology from Sun Yat-sen University in 2014. She is a native Hakka speaker. Her research focuses on the Phonetics and Phonology of Chinese dialects. She is now involved in research in the Yale Phonetics Lab, collaborating with Jason Shaw on the acoustic and articulatory analysis of vowels in Hakka dialect.
