American Sign Language

Leslie Rubin received her BA from Rochester Institute of Technology and her MA in Deaf Education from Hunter College. She has extensive experience in Deaf education at all levels. She has also worked to create programs for hearing people that help them understand and appreciate Deaf culture. She is passionate about art and Deaf history and is delighted to be able to incorporate it in her teaching, for example by bringing her ASL students to the Yale University Art Gallery and Beinecke Library. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys spending time with horses, playing golf and pickleball, and studying the semantics of ASL.
