Edwin Ko is a historical linguist who studies how and why languages change over time. His research centers around morphosyntax, language change, language documentation, and language revitalization in Indigenous North America, especially involving Crow (or Apsáalooke) and the other Siouan languages. In addition to conducting fieldwork, he examines archival materials and employs computational phylogenetic methods. His research has been published in Diachronica, Language Documentation & Conservation, and Semantic Fieldwork Methods.
