Visiting Assistant Professor and Presidential Visiting Fellow
Semantics & Pragmatics

I specialize in the semantics of African languages, primarily focusing on Akan, a Niger-Congo language spoken in Ghana. I hold a Ph.D. from Rutgers University and was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Boston College for three years before coming to Yale.

My research explores the contributions of African languages to linguistic theory, particularly formal semantic theory. By critically applying existing theories to Akan and other Kwa languages, I aim to account for empirical data while refining these theories. My work underscores the importance of understudied languages in pursuing a comprehensive and explanatorily adequate linguistic theory.
